Why are Rakhis colourful?

The colourful Rakhi's that we see aren't simply a visual delight. It has got a deep association with Colour Therapy. It helps in stimulating hormonal and biochemical processes in our body and cures ailments. 

Why is Rakhi tied on the wrist?

By tying a rakhi on the wrist, the three impurities namely Vata, pitta, and Kapha i.e. fire, air, and cold are controlled.

Another aspect is the acupressure science associated with it. The centre of our wrist is a pressure point for the Lymphatic System in our body. Lymph helps in strengthening immunity and protects the body from cough, cold, viral, and several other diseases. The Rakhi creates a light pressure on this point to activate lymph in a controlled manner.

Why is Tilak applied on the forehead?

Tilak, which is applied to the centre of the forehead, is made of sandalwood and turmeric powder. It stimulates the Pineal Gland which helps in keeping the mind calm. There is a reason why Tilak is applied on almost all occasions!
